She doesn’t let others push her into any role, she doesn’t want to take on. An independent, young woman, not overly ambitious but fully aware of her own talents. Sometimes the characters mashed in my head and I had a hard time remembering who was who and doing what.ĭaisy is very relatable, though. While the cast is superdiverse, even featuring an aromatic storyline, I did feel, however, there was hardly enough time to get to know everyone and appreciate them. Overall, this premise had me hooked immediately and yes, I blasted through this little book in no time. And even her new employer seems to hide a thing or two… But after she accepts a new job, things around her start to escalate. However, recently Magic around Soot City has become a taboo and people capable of Magic are being blamed for most things wrong.ĭaisy who is capable of a certain type of Magic has had no trouble hiding her talents so far. Moonshine’s focus is on a young, “modern” aka Flapper girl called Daisy Dell who is just trying to get along, live her life and have fun. And we get Magic! Hands down: This is the content I’m here for! I doubt there is any other book there holding such a diverse and compelling list of characters.

Moonshine by Jasmine Gower was such an interesting read. Part of being a modern girl meant being self-sufficient.
